Montoso and Rucas
in Bagnolo Piedmont
Legendary Climbs
“Discovered” by the Giro d’Italia in 2019 and included in the stage organised to commemorate Fausto Coppi and his legendary Cuneo-Pinerolo feat in 1949, on the occasion of the one hundredth anniversary of the birth of the Great Champion, Montoso is a climb well known to Piedmont cycling enthusiasts that in the 2024 edition of Legendary climbs in the Terre del Monviso is proposed until the arrival of the village Rucas
Steep hairpin bends, long straight segments with a constant climb and a few stretches where you can catch your breath are the ingredients that make this itinerary, which reaches 1,531 metres above sea level, both a good training exercise and challenging.
The maximum gradient is 16%, with a total elevation gain of 1,165 m over a 16.5 km route
The meeting place for participants is at Piazza San Pietro in Bagnolo, Piedmont; the road will be closed to traffic and reserved for cycling tourists only from Via Cave, 3 km after the starting point.
