Sant’Anna di Vinadio
Legendary Climbs
A place frequented by cyclists and walkers, ten years ago Vincenzo Nibali won the pink jersey that earned him his second Giro d’Italia right here: he was the last Italian –so far– to triumph in the Giro d’Italia.
The climb begins after the hamlet of Pratolungo and rises rapidly through a series of numerous narrow hairpin bends, often immersed in the woods in the first few kilometers, before continuing into a wild Alpine valley.
The road is paved, winding and at times narrow, and requires good effort management. The last few kilometers remain sustained before reaching the Sanctuary of Sant’Anna –perched in the Maritime Alps and the highest in Europe–, a symbolic place that offers a grand panorama of the surrounding peaks.

The meeting point is in the Pratolungo hamlet; the road will be closed to motor traffic from the Puà hamlet.
